Description
In our private 1-on-1 Nature Therapy Walk, we’ll quiet our minds, awaken our senses, and restore our relationship with ourselves and nature with a slow, gentle walk (2-3 hours long) to appreciate the healing benefits of nature. The forest is the therapist. Your certified forest therapy guide opens the door. Through a series of thoughtfully crafted activities, I’ll invite you to experience nature in a new way. It all culminates with a tea ceremony in which your guide will serve snacks and a wildcrafted infusion of local plants. Upon departure, we’ll have an enhanced appreciation for the natural world, and a new practice that we can readily apply in our daily lives. May the forest be with you!
Frequently Asked Questions
Will we be walking far?
No, on a typical Nature Therapy Walk we will be walking less than a mile over the 2-3 hours. That being said drinking water and restrooms may not be easily accessible. Please be prepared to carry enough water to stay hydrated during our time together.
What about bad weather?
Walks will continue regardless of the weather, except in cases of severe weather such as lightning, tornado watch/warning, tropical storm watch/warning, and windchill advisory. So please dress appropriately; if conditions are chilly dress far warmer than you think you’ll need as we will be still much of the walk so you can not rely of movement to generate extra body heat. If you’re lucky it will rain during your walk- it heightens the senses and provides a unique experience.
What should I wear?
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Rain heightens the senses, so we will continue to walk in the rain unless there is lightning and thunder. If it is expected to be a quick passing storm we will wait it out in our cars and continue as soon as it passes. In the event of a severe weather watch or warning, we’ll cancel our walk and reschedule as soon as possible.
What should I bring with me?
Please bring enough water to stay hydrated during the walk. Depending on the season, be prepared for sunburn or insect bites by bringing or applying sunscreen and necessary repellants, also bring any medications you regularly take during the time frame of the walk as well as any emergency allergy medications for known allergies. You may want to bring a small portable cushion, but this is optional.
Will we be completely alone?
Unless you schedule a private walk on your land, our walks take place in private places; solitude from other visitors is not expected or guaranteed.
