Frequently Asked Questions

Will we be walking far? No, on a typical nature therapy walk we will be walking less than a mile over the 2-3 hours. This means that there will be quite a bit of time when we are being still. That being said drinking water and restrooms may not be easily accessible. Please be prepared to carry enough water to stay hydrated during our time together. What should I wear? Please dress appropriately for the weather. Rain offers an awakening of the senses and the natural world in a unique way, so we will continue to walk in the rain unless there is lightning and thunder. If conditions are chilly dress far warmer than you think you’ll need as we will be still much of the walk so you can not rely on movement to generate extra body heat. What should I bring with me? Please bring enough water to stay hydrated during the walk. Depending on the season, be prepared for sunburn or insect bites by bringing or applying sunscreen and necessary repellants, also bring any medications you regularly take during the time frame of the walk as well as any emergency allergy medications for known allergies. You may want to bring a small portable cushion, as there will be times we are staying in an area where there are no benches for up to 20 minutes at a time, but this is optional. When should I arrive?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time in order to be considerate of other participants and ensure the walk will end on time. What about bad weather? Walks will continue regardless of the weather, except in cases of severe weather. If it is expected to be a quick passing storm we will wait it out in our cars and continue as soon as it passes. In the event of severe weather, such as lightning, tornado watch/warning, tropical storm watch/warning, or heat/windchill advisory, we’ll cancel or discontinue our walk and reschedule as soon as possible.  If you’re lucky it will rain during your walk- it heightens the senses and provides a unique experience.

Will we be completely alone?

Unless you schedule a private walk on your land, our walks take place in public places; solitude from other visitors is not expected or guaranteed.

What else do I need to know?

More information specific to your walk will be emailed to you 3 days prior to the walk. This will include information about the forecasted weather, our meeting place, parking locations, and any applicable parking fees, etc
